Per Sport, Al-Hilal want to sign a replacement for Bono this summer and are eyeing three world-class goalkeepers: Barcelona's Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Manchester City's Ederson, and Liverpool stopper Alisson. Enquiries have been made for all three, with a significant budget set aside for the potential purchase.

Al-Hilal do face a significant obstacle in that many players view Saudi Arabia as a less-than-attractive destination. Alisson has rejected a move to the league before, doing so last summer, and ter Stegen also has doubts over the prospect of the move, as he is concerned about losing his place in the Germany squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
